Insulin pumps are becoming more popular (in people with type 1 diabetes) in Australia. They are also known as continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion devices (CSII).
   
  The Glycemic Index (GI) is a measure of the effect that a carbohydrate food has on blood glucose levels.
   
  Most lancet devices have an adjustable depth gauge to change the depth of lancet penetration.
   
  People with pre-diabetes are not eligible to join the NDSS.
   
  HbA1c is a blood test which shows the average blood glucose level over the past 10-12 weeks.
