| • Rhonda Griffiths - AM, MSc (Hons); Dr PH. Rhonda is a Professor of Nursing at University of Western Sydney. She is also a Director of the South West Sydney Centre for Applied Nursing Research and a Director of the NSW Centre for Evidence Based Health Care. She is an experienced administrator, researcher and educator with a focus on strategic planning and change management and has held senior positions in public health services and Universities. She has extensive academic experience in diabetes, extending to the international arena and was recognised with the award of Honorary Life Member of the Australian Diabetes Educators Association in 1995. In 1999 she received the Sir Kempton Maddox Award, the highest award given by Diabetes Australia- NSW. Rhonda has been on the Board since March 1999. |

| • John Bell - AM, BPharm, FPS, FRPharmS, FACPP, MSHP. Formerly National President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, John is now Principal Adviser to the Self Care Program. The health information program is conducted by the Pharmaceutical Society with the support of the pharmaceutical industry and the Australian State and Federal governments. John currently serves as a member of the NSW Committee of the National Asthma Campaign and is honorary consultant pharmacist to the Coeliac Society of Australia. In 1993 he was appointed as a member of the Order of Australia for services to Pharmacy. John was appointed to the Board in May 2001. |

| • Robert Guthrie - Dip Law (SAB), JP. Robert is the North Shore Diabetes Australia-NSW Branch Treasurer and Newsletter Editor. He serves as Consumer Representative on the ADS Retinopathy Sub-Committee, the University of New South Wales National Diabetes Data Collation Project and the National Diabetes Data Working Group reporting to the National Diabetes Strategy Group. Robert has special interests in Ethics in Business, Law and Government, Credit Unions, Environmental Protection, Management Development, Total Quality Management and Computing. Robert has diabetes and was appointed to the Board in July 1993. |

| • Betty Cooper Betty has been a Diabetes Australia-NSW Branch member for over 20 years. She was actively involved with two branches, being a member of the Hornsby Steering Committee and later becoming President. After moving to the Blue Mountains Betty was approached and became President of the Branch. As a retired registered nurse, Betty has cared for many people with diabetes and understands the end results of neglecting diabetes. Betty and her youngest daughter have diabetes. She has very good reasons to promote awareness and support research. Betty has been a member of the Board since January 2004. |

| • Paul Gooding - OAM, Ad Mech Eng Paul has served in various positions in the Australian diabetes movement for over 23 years. He was President of the Diabetic Association of the Northern Territory (trading as HLNT), and served on the National Board of Diabetes Australia Ltd for 18 years. Paul has been Vice-President of HLNT since 2004 and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for services to diabetes in the same year. His professional vocation is in the Information Communication and Technology industry and he has extensive experience in project management across the private and government sectors. Paul lives with type 1 diabetes and has a particular interest in advancing all services for people with diabetes throughout Australia, especially in regional and remote areas. Paul was appointed to the Board in October 2008. |

| • Elsie Langford Elsie has been a Branch member, and on the Executive Committee She is also the Board secretary at Coffs Harbour radio station, 2 AIR FM Elsie stood for the Board of Diabetes Australia-NSW as she believes that branches should have a better representation. Elsie has been a member of the Board since November 2004. |

| • Phil Tuck - BEc, BA, ACIS, AIMM, ASIA, CPA, MAICD, JP.
Phil is the Managing Director of Interim Executive Search and a specialist in the area of senior executive recruitment. He has over 15 years’ experience in the executive search and recruitment marketplace having held senior positions with major Australian listed and international firms. He works with a range of organisations across many industries including the not-for-profit sector. Phil’s network is extensive and includes senior executives from Boards of Directors and CEOs to heads of functions and specialist executives. Prior to working in the recruitment industry. Phil spent time in leading IT, Electronics, Funds Management and Stockbroking organisations. Phil’s interest in diabetes is derived from the diagnosis of his 12-year-old son with type 1 diabetes in 2004. Phil was appointed to the Board in June 2005. |

| • Bruce Hayman Bruce has over 40 years commercial management experience. He has spent over 20 years at operational Chief Executive or General Manager level and is currently a Director of AVJennings Ltd. He was previously CEO of the Australian Rugby Union, where he was instrumental in the establishment of SANZAR and the Super 12 and Tri Nations competition. As Chairman of Chartwell Management Services Pty Ltd, Bruce has wide business and sporting administration experience to offer. Bruce is a Chairman of the Zipper & Stent Group Inc, an affiliated body of the Sydney Adventist Hospital Foundation. He led a group of fellow bypass patients across the Kokoda Track in 2005. Whilst living in Singapore in the 70’s and 80’s he was foundation President of The Singapore Australia Business Council. He has been recognised by Tourism Training Australia with a Platinum award for contribution to the Australian tourism industry. Bruce was appointed to the Board in November 2006. |
