The Great Australian Bite
The Great Australian Bite is an annual fundraising event held in April each year which involves getting a group of friends, family or work colleagues together to share a bite to eat. Hosts then ask their guests to make a donation to Diabetes Australia-NSW.
Corporations can use their Great Australian Bite as an opportunity to recognise monthly celebrations such as birthdays or employee of the month, and could also opt to match the amount raised during these occasions. They can also become Corporate Partners by agreeing to hold a bite in each of their offices across the state, in return for branding exposure.
NSW Corporate Games
The Corporate Games have been running in NSW for 15 years and are held each year in March. The Corporate Games were founded to provide every person the opportunity to play in a multi-sport championship and to remain active in sport. It is a community-based mass-participation event designed to encourage teamwork and a commitment to fitness and fun. The event is targeted at Corporate Companies, however teams may include employees, colleagues, clients, family and friends and is open to all ability levels.
Diabetes Australia-NSW now has a greater role in the NSW Corporate Games, rather than just being the Official Games Charity. Diabetes Australia-NSW will manage the Games internally and look after all aspects including sponsorship, marketing and operations of the NSW Corporate Games. From 2008 and beyond all profits from the Games will go directly back to Diabetes Australia-NSW.

Barnaby Bee
Barnaby, Diabetes Australia's favourite mascot, keeps very busy during the year. He's the face of Buzz Day, the charity's flagship fundraising event and helps promote awareness of diabetes. Barnaby also appears at camps for children with diabetes, the Westmead Children's Hospital Christmas Party and media opportunities.
IDF 'Life for a child with diabetes' Sponsorship Program
In developing countries like the Philippines, Fiji and Papua New Guinea, diabetes services are frequently under-developed. Professional expertise is limited in some countries and often there are not diabetes educators, dietitians or social workers.
The full cost of complete management of a child suffering with type 1 diabetes exceeds the annual income of many families (US$400-800 per annum excluding professional services costs).
In response to this need, Diabetes Australia-NSW has developed a program run from the Diabetes Australia-NSW office, and is overseen by Dr. Graham Ogle and Professor Martin Silink at the International Diabetes Federation office in the New Children's Hospital at Westmead in Sydney.
Being a supporter of the program costs $1 per day, which can be donated monthly ($30), quarterly ($92) or annually ($365).
Raffles
Two raffles are held annually with some fantastic prizes. Both are well supported, significantly contributing to funds raised for Diabetes Australia-NSW.
Diabetes and Diabesity Update Day
An annual seminar for GPs and allied Health Professionals to hear about the latest changes in diabetes management.
